The Music Hall
This music hall is derived from a series of studies that highlight the relation of form to acoustic conditions. The Plantahof Auditorium, The Wall House, and the Villa Savoye each inspired a different feature of this structure, creating a continuous flow through the program. This design utilizes the “L” shaped site and guides the guests towards each element of circulation. The facade imitates the parking garage across from it and allows for the irregular forms to branch off from it.The angled wall draws guests in from the sidewalk, and leads them underneath the cantilevered space towards the entrance. This then leads the guests into the main lobby and exhibition space where they are directed towards all other programmatic features. In this building the administrative and performer’s space is separated from the guests, as they are never cross paths until they are in the auditorium.

Context
This park is inspired by Jamaica’s beautiful topography and the rich history it represents. During the period of enslavement, the island was full of plantations that cultivated crops on the flat lands of Jamaica. When the British took control of the island from the Spaniards, groups of enslaved people fled to the mountains and created their own communities of free people. These groups are known as the Maroons. The Maroons settled in the most dangerous parts of the island’s landscape to protect themselves from being found. They learned to use the topography to their advantage, enabling them to remain free and communicate with other free communities. Through research of this time period, there is a clear correlation between topography and liberation. Cockpit Country (shown above) is the most iconic landform on the island. Its rolling hills create a beautiful blanket of green across a 20-square-mile area. Cockpit Country is home to many unique plant and animal species that exist only in this part of the island.
The site of the park is in Petersfield, Jamaica, on the southwestern part of the island. The land where the park exists was once a plantation. As a form of architectural resistance, this park is designed to represent the landscape of the island where freedom thrived. It is a way to reclaim the land and honor the beauty of Jamaica.

PRODUCT DESIGN

Custom Fit
Face scans are taken to create a perfect match with a product that fits the consumer’s face. By mapping facial features with x and y coordinates we’re able to adjust the shape of the mask to ensure a snug and comfortable fit.

Colormetric Sensor
Using color to inform the user of their daily interactions. The mask is equipped with a motion sensor that detects when others get close to you. As more people come into contact with the user the tab will gradually start to show color. This is a personal contact tracing feature that gives the user a sense of their risk level. When the tab has turned completely blue its time to replace the filter.
